First "Official" Outing & Milk

Breken had his first outing today besides going to see the doctor Monday and Tuesday. He went with Grandma and I to Costco! Kevin asked if we had to fight the paparazzi off. I had to explain how I had a dog bed on top of his car seat canopy in the shopping cart, so I don’t think anyone could even see Breken unless they looked real close. Otherwise, I’m sure the paparazzi would have been in full force! Haha!

Also newsworthy, my milk finally started coming in, but not very much. You would think these chi-chis would be good for something dang it!

I’m headed to “Babies R Us” tomorrow to find a little gadget that my friend Judy told me about that might help Breken make the transition back to breast feeding. So far he finds it to be too much work and just gets really frustrated with our attempts. I started pumping so that I can at least give it to him through a bottle, and hopefully increase my production. Pumping is just like milking a cow---such a joy!

Friday will be a big day. Kevin is taking the day off and Breken will by circumcised. Someone asked if I’m going to watch, and I’ve been around and seen a lot of things growing up on a little ranch with lots of critters, but I don’t think I can watch this. I will certainly be there with him to hold his hand, but not likely looking on. Well, come to think of it, I doubt my husband could stomach that, and someone has to make sure they don’t mess it up. Hmmm…..maybe I’ll have to contemplate this. Perhaps a little mental preparation can get me through…??

Breken is eating very well and with the aid of Milicon (for gas relief), we’re all very happy and feeling good! That being said, my precious boy has a full tummy now and gave me a wonderfully BIG and messy present, so off we go!

  1. Gotta love those gas drops! We went through lots of them with my kids. Don't give up on breastfeeding! I know it's hard at first, but it's so worth it. Good luck!!

I say if you want to breast feed go for it. I myself did not take to it like they all said I was supposed to (you can imagine, you know Jarrod) anyway after attempting for about a week the doctor decided that I was not a candidate, too much blood not enough milk. I must admit I told him that was fine but I was going to need a note for my mother ! (she had 11)

(I say for those that can't breastfeed, you can still bond. My 34 year old calls me daily)

    Beautiful Baby.Beautiful Family !!! Congrats
