Big Boy Getting Closer

Okay, this baby boy must just love it in there!

I see Dr. Schill every Tuesday morning, and this week she said he’s “big” (we’ve known that, but she hasn’t expressed concern until now) and if we don’t have him by next Tuesday she’s going to order another ultrasound to check on his development and we’ll go from there. I would much prefer he decide to come out on his own, but I completely trust Dr. Schill and if she thinks she needs to get him out of there sooner, then so be it.

Over the past couple days he’s begun to shift a bit and sit on parts of my inner body that offer new sensations (that’s my nice way of saying it). Last night after getting up to use the restroom and returning to bed, I wondered if I was having mild contractions. When I stand up it’s like he repositions himself (or my body does it for him), and then when I lie down again, it takes a few minutes for my body to adjust, and it’s not comfortable. It’s not painful either, just annoying. I think I’m lucky to have these odd feelings now and not throughout my entire pregnancy! J

Kevin looks at my belly every now and then and analyzes how much the baby has “dropped”. It seems it has been a slow progression to this point as opposed to all at once. While sitting at dinner two nights ago I ate a little shish-kabob and a little rosemary potatoes and I was just stuffed, and mom said something like “Well, there just isn’t much room in there anymore,” and Kevin said “Come to Pappa!” Of course I said “Not yet, I have to get his car seat installed!”

I’ve called the CHP twice (Wednesday and Thursday) and not yet received a call back. I’m a little frustrated with them at the moment. If it’s so important to them for drivers and passengers to be safe on the roads, and 7 out of 10 car seats are said to be installed incorrectly, then why the heck won’t they be responsive??? Arrgggh! I shall call again, with a little more persistence this time. Third time is a charm right??

Well, the longer Little Mr. Smith delays his entrance, the longer I have to get his car seat ready. Everything happens in due time!

Cheers for now!

  1. Room looks great. As for the CHP - just show up...its hard to say no to very pregnant women!! Also, State Farm Insurance just did a car seat check point here in Bako, so maybe they have someone who can help. Officer Wimbish told me that the most important thing about the seat is that you can not make it move. So, have Kevin climb in the car and put his knee bottom of the seat or base and pull the strap tight - of course making sure the seat belts are all going in the proper places is essential but the directions should help with that.
